Here are some guidelines:

1. The bottom of your shirt should fall anywhere between the middle of your zipper or right above the bottom of your zipper. 

2. The top of the back pockets should be covered by your shirt.

If you are on the shorter side, stick to the middle of the zipper as this will make your legs longer and make you look taller. The last thing you want is your upper body to look oddly long and your legs look short.
